An ideology of the Fang Elves that originated with the emergence of The Master of the Hunt. At its core, it is a primal compulsion of Fang Elves to range ever outwards in spite of opposition or adversity to reach ever new prey.
For most Fang Elves this is taken literally as a challenge to ever hunt for untasted flesh. Many Fang Elf communities – especially the more organized and “civilized” ones – attach to it a ritual of never eating the same type of prey twice in a row, which works to prevent overpredation.
The most intellectual of Fang Elves interpret The Hunt as a hunger for new knowledge and new experiences to stay sharp of tooth and claw. This is how Gradregald Red-lip, the wide-ranging Fang Elf scholar, says she experiences the call of The Hunt in her heart: “There is but a finite number of animal species in the world and I have tasted most; in flavour and texture they differ from each other no more than a calf from a bull. Mere details and minutiae! For the truly new, for that which truly puts one to the test, one must face the unknown and bite deep into its mysteries!”
